Permanent Residence in Quebec for Food Processing Workers

Quebec Province is now accepting applications for Permanent Residence through this Pilot Program. However, a maximum of 600 applications will be received until December 31, 2024.

This pilot program allows to settle in Quebec to temporary foreign workers in the food processing sector. Be sure you meet the following requirements to apply:

  • Be 18 years of age and older
  • Have obtained a diploma in a full-time program of study lasting at least one year
  • Obtained an eligible full-time job in Quebec, for at least 24 months
  • French knowledge corresponding to level 7  of the Quebec scale of French proficiency Levels, or equivalent.

Therefore, this program is specifically for the occupations classified under the following NOC (National Occupational Classification):

  • NOC 94141 – Industrial Butchers and Meat Cutters, Poultry Preparers and Related Workers;

  • NOC 95106 – Labourers in Food and Beverage Processing;

  • NOC 95107 – Labourers in Fish and Seafood Processing;

  • NOC 65311 – Specialty Cleaners;

  • NOC 94140 – Machine and Process Operators in Food and Beverage Processing;

  • NOC 85100 – Labourers in the care of livestock, but only the job title chicken gatherer;

  • NOC 94142 – Workers in fish and seafood processing plants.
