If you have lived together for a year in total after becoming a permanent resident, then it's okay. If you lived together for a whole year before that, it's not applicable and you may have a problem. If you lived together for a year after getting permanent residency, you can sponsor your partner as your common law partner if you both live in Canada and meet residency rules.
