Hi everyone, I was wondering under which condition a refugee person can go for a short-term trip to the country where he asked for protection from to visit a dying family member? Can anyone who went through a similar experience help me with this?

Do you have Canadian citizenship? If you do, you can go to your home country without any problems. 

If you are not officially a citizen yet, going back to your home country could be dangerous. If you do this, you might not be allowed to become a citizen in the future.

I'm assuming that you were the primary while applying for refugee status. If someone else was primary and you were the dependent it could make a difference.
