I was just charged a monthly charge on my account. As a student, I assumed I got free transactions. I’ve been on hold with my bank for hours not sure if they’ll give any info. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Most banks in Canada offer unlimited transactions and no monthly fees on student accounts. However, these benefits last from 12 to 16 months after opening your account. I would suggest you to walk into the nearest location and talk to them, if you’re a full time student they’re more likely to waive off the fees.
